Vitafoods Asia 2023, the largest nutraceutical event for health-conscious people, has ended with a great success. The event, Asia’s No. 1 food supplement, health products, ingredients and technology, was recently held in Thailand for the second time by Informa Markets (Thailand), Asia’s leading exhibition organizer. The event, covering over 15,000 square metre area in Hall 5-7 of Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, has attracted leading exhibitors across Asia, confirming its importance as a key driver to make Thailand the hub of nutraceutical and food supplement products and ingredients in Asia.

Vitafoods Asia 2023 has received very positive response from government and private sectors in Thailand. Some of the leading Thai organizations such as the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research (TISTR), the Food Supplement Group, Federation of Thai Industries, Herbal industry club, Federation of Thai Industries have joined over 480 leading companies from 40 countries worldwide to showcase their products, innovations, and technologies.

The event featured extensive knowledge and information, innovations, technologies, and services related to food supplements and extracts, enabling the event to “unlock” limitations related to quality of food extracts. In addition, producers and visitors to the event also found interesting solutions at different zones, enabling them to grow their network and strengthen connection with business partners.

Vitafoods Asia 2023 captured the world’s attention from the very beginning after Ms. Supamas Isarabhakdi, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation presided over the opening ceremony at the main hall, LG floor, QSNCC. Witnessed the opening ceremony are exhibitors and visitors from Thailand and other countries.

This year, Vitafoods Asia continued to excite visitors with a lot of activities. Informa Markets (Thailand), a leading MICE operator and exhibition organizer, has prepared many interesting activities that help connect suppliers with the sources of raw materials, dietary supplement products, contract manufacturers and innovative services. Vitafoods Asia, therefore, becomes the only exhibition that provides in-depth information about market insights and collects all natural extracts, technologies, and innovations in one place.

One of the most interesting zones attracting visitors’ attention are the special zones featuring popular ingredients, such as Probiotics Resource Center, Omega-3 Resource Center, New Ingredients & New Products Zone, Main Stage and NutraFocus which included more than 40 interesting seminar topics about nutraceutical trends by experts and business leaders from countries around the globe. Visitors also found that the Innovative Health Hub full of interesting health and nutrition trends.

The Vitafoods Asia Nutraceutical Awards, which was held for the first time in Thailand, opened an opportunity for business operators and general public to present their food supplements, food extracts, prototype and production plans to compete for cash prizes worth over 100,000 baht in total. The winners also received quality certificates, which will enable them to further develop their food extract products for commercial purpose. This year, 13 projects were shortlisted. Outstanding projects showcased in the event are WELL NEST; bird nest powder and 12 food extract mixture by Beauty Cosmet which received the first runner up award, probiotics from coconut extract by the Enzyme and Microorganisms Benefit Excellence Center, King Mongkut University of Technology Thonburi which received the second runner-up prize, and NUTRIXTM fruit extract for the treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) by Nanogene that received the third runner-up prize. Other projects with honorable mention awards are Klin Mala’s fragrant Jelly and PENEO PRO rice protein powder by Rangsit University.

International pavilions also featured many interesting products and innovations from Belgium, Japan, China, South Korea, Poland, Spain, Taiwan and the USA. Joining them are leading Thai brands, including Brenntag Ingredients (Thailand), C-Point (Thailand), Bonanzaneutra, iBio, Life Extension (Thailand), and Tilleke & Gibbins.

One of the most popular zones is “Tasting Bar” where visitors had a taste of new food supplements and extracts, such as jelly, milk, drinking powder, etc. Business operators also had the opportunity to use these products to develop new products at the event.

In a nutshell, business operators of all sizes that wanted to start new businesses received lots of inspiration and new ideas to build their business in the future.

The event was believed to boost Thailand’s nutraceutical industry and demonstrated to the world that Thailand was ready to be the health and nutrition hub in Asia.
